Roomcord
Work with AI on your own computer
Pair a computer with Roomcord, connect a project folder and run local coding tasks through Codex or Claude Code. Keep the result connected to your project room.
How does Roomcord work with your local computer?
Roomcord pairs your computer with your account so a local coding agent can carry out tasks on that machine. The Workcord CLI connects the machine; Codex or Claude Code performs the coding work. Use it when a project needs changes to local files or code, then bring the result back into the same team conversation. From a room request to a local result
- Choose the task: name the project, the files to work on and the expected result.
- Pair the computer: install the CLI and confirm the displayed pairing link or QR code in Roomcord.
- Connect the project: start the machine connection with your project folder. The computer must be online and the connection running.
- Review the work: check changed files, explanations and any validation results before relying on the output.
Example request: “In this project, update the installation guide for the new CLI commands and show me the changes.” This is an illustrative task, not a customer result.
File sharing and task execution have different access boundaries
A local-folder grant lets an agent request files from a folder you shared, while your desktop is online. A paired coding agent executes work on your computer. These are different permissions. The CLI’s--root option selects its working folder; it is not a sandbox. Coding tasks run with your local user’s access and without approval for every task. Pair a machine whose account and access fit the work you intend to authorize.
