Roomcord / Boss view

Know what needs you without chasing reports.

We’re building Roomcord’s boss view to bring exceptions from project rooms into one executive overview: what is blocked, what needs your decision and what was delivered. Open the source room, review the evidence and move the next decision forward.

What is boss view, and who is it for?

Boss view is the cross-room decision overview we are developing for executives, operations leaders and project owners. It reads the same room boards used by the teams, bringing together red items, pending approvals, decisions made this week and on-time commitments per owner. Its purpose is to help you decide, unblock or delegate without asking everyone to reconstruct a status report.

Four questions for the leadership review

  1. What is red? Review overdue commitments, confirmed risks and dependencies where one room blocks another. An unknown update must stay unknown rather than appear green.
  2. What needs my decision? Open the question, options, evidence, owner’s recommendation and ballot deadline. Route work to the right decision owner.
  3. What was decided this week? See the resolution and reasoning, including changed or reassigned items. A generated summary is not an approved decision.
  4. Which commitments need support? Review accepted dates, early slip reports and on-time history with the owner’s explanation. Use this context for coaching and an unblock plan.

Illustrative cross-room review: a launch depends on readiness

The following is a fictional workflow example, not a screenshot, customer result or claim that the interface is available. Review time: October 23, 2026, 10:00, in the team’s agreed time zone.

Exception and source roomOwner and due dateEvidence freshnessNext action
Launch scope awaits a decision, Launch roomMaya, ballot due October 23 at 15:00Recommendation confirmed October 23 at 09:00Review a narrower-launch recommendation; approve, change or reassign
Readiness check blocks launch, Engineering roomClaire, accepted date October 22 at 17:00Last owner update October 22 at 16:00; completion evidence missingAsk Claire to confirm the blocker and proposed date; schedule an Unblock if unresolved
Support guide depends on confirmed scope, Support roomLuis, accepted date October 24 at 12:00Draft linked October 23 at 08:30Keep the dependency visible; confirm changes after the scope ballot resolves

AI may suggest these cards from messages and meeting moments. Maya, Claire and Luis confirm their own commitments; no row silently assigns work. The leader follows the Engineering source before deciding launch scope. If Claire proposes a new date, the change retains the previous date, author and reason. The scope ballot and accepted follow-up then update the same boards. Closure needs an explicit resolution or completion evidence, not merely a reminder being sent.

From an exception to an agreed next move

The intended loop starts with conversation and a source-linked suggested card. A person confirms the owner and date. A decision request becomes an approval ballot with a recommendation and named approvers. The owner accepts the resulting commitment, and commit and chase carries reminders and escalation. Boss view surfaces what remains unresolved; it does not approve on someone’s behalf.

Money above the room’s limit, legal matters and people decisions are protected categories requiring designated explicit approval. For other decisions, any timeout policy must be visible and agreed before use. An unresolved red item can become an Unblock meeting with the people who can fix it. The decision ledger keeps the result and its reasoning.

Measure decisions closed on time, with the denominator visible

For each team and agreed calendar week, define decisions closed on time as the count of distinct decision ballots due that week that reach a recorded resolution by their agreed deadline. A resolution records an approved choice, an explicitly agreed changed plan, or a reassignment accepted by the new decision owner. A CHANGE request awaiting revision remains open. Report accepted reassignments separately: they resolve routing, not the underlying decision or delivery. Do not count an AI suggestion or unread request as closure.

Show that count alongside all decision ballots due that week. The on-time decision rate is the first count divided by the second, with cancelled items and policy-based outcomes identified separately. If none are due, the rate is not applicable. Missing deadline or outcome evidence means the rate is unverified, not zero. Preserve original deadlines and disclose changes so moving dates does not hide delays.

For commitment reliability per owner, use accepted commitments due in the same period as the denominator, and evidence-backed completions by the agreed date as the numerator. Keep unknown records separate and show the owner’s context, early warnings and date history. These are proposed measurement definitions for a first room, not published performance results or a ranking of employees.

Evidence, access and freshness belong beside the signal

The boss-view design calls for each exception to carry its source room, owner, due date and last confirmed update. An old update remains dated; it does not become current because the overview refreshed. A missing result is unconfirmed, not a failed test or a completed task.

Cross-room visibility must respect the viewer’s permissions. The overview must not reveal a restricted room’s messages, filenames or people through a summary. Agree which source detail each leader can open before a pilot. The same evidence rules apply to dependencies; a link between rooms does not grant access. Financial or CRM data is outside this page’s promise unless its source and connection are separately verified.

Availability as of October 21, 2026

Roomcord’s existing foundation includes rooms, chat, shared files and meeting capture. Cross-room boss view, automated red-item detection, decision metrics, owner-level reliability and dependency routing describe the experience in development. Their availability, source coverage, freshness and permission behavior must be confirmed for your first room. This announcement does not claim general availability, measured savings or a shipped financial dashboard.

Start with one leadership question

Choose one recurring question, such as “Which decision is holding up our launch?” Agree the rooms in scope, decision owners, due dates, evidence access and weekly measurement definitions. Review proposed exceptions against the source before extending coverage.
