CEO Dashboard Glossary: Performance, Decisions and Work
A shared language for understanding the company without rebuilding the story every week. These definitions describe the use case; they are not a list of shipped features.
CEO dashboard
A leadership view that connects business performance, open decisions, risks, and relevant news. In Bewize’s current example, this is an interactive concept with fictional data.
Executive visibility
The ability to understand progress, changes, and unresolved issues across an agreed scope of work. Visibility depends on permitted sources and their coverage.
Operating picture
A connected account of what is happening, why it matters, and what needs attention. It combines metrics with the work and decisions that help explain them.
Reporting from work
Preparing an operating brief from records created in everyday work, with human clarification where needed. The goal is less repeated report preparation.
Decision context
The question, alternatives, evidence, owner, and constraints behind a decision. A decision log records what was agreed and why, along with the next review or action.
Exception and blocker
An exception is a meaningful departure from an agreed plan. A blocker prevents a defined next step. Neither should be inferred merely from a quiet conversation or missing update.
Business news and market signals
External developments assessed for their relevance to active work, customers, risks, or opportunities. Preserve the original source and date, and separate the news from the team’s interpretation.
Source coverage
The known boundary of the records included in a view. Missing sources mean the picture is incomplete; they do not establish zero activity or zero risk.
Data freshness
When a source was last updated or checked, measured against the cadence needed for the decision. A new summary can still contain old source data.
Shared team context
The conversations, meetings, files, decisions, and history that people and AI coworkers can use within their access permissions. Shared context reduces the need to repeat the background.
